Ten more aldermanic candidates and four mayoral candidates found themselves off the Feb. 26 ballot as elections officials worked their way through dozens of still-pending challenges. Mayor Rahm Emanuel continued to make good on his promise to leave no ally behind, and gave $20,000 to former aide and 47th Ward candidate Michael Negron. In addition, the five-member City Council LGBT Caucus won the backing of the Equality Illinois PAC in their bids for re-election.
