  • Ald. John Arena (45) shared some trivia about the honorary street sign at Milwaukee and Lawrence: it was dedicated to Irena Sendler, who led an operation that smuggled 2,500 Jewish childrenout of the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. He also provided an update on buffered bike lanes along Milwaukee. 
  • Ald. Ameya Pawar (47) will join Ald. Pat Dowell (3) in giving extra TIF money to CPS. Ald. Joe Moreno (1) has also expressed an interest. Pawar and the mayor are working on a strong/comprehensive TIF surplus policy… [Pawar’s office] will lead by retiring two 47th Ward TIFs early.”
